Brian Carr DD—Denturist
After earning his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto in 1976, Brian Carr enrolled into the Denturist Program at George Brown College. He graduated in 1979 and immediately began to work as a denturist. To date, Brian has 30 years of experience as a licensed denturist, and he takes pride in all of the smiles he has created over the years. While he has built a reputation as a highly skilled denturist, Brian is also well known – and loved – for his warm and caring chair-side manner. In his spare time, Brian loves to spend time with family and friends, and is enjoying his new found interest in technology by learning how to use a computer and iPod. Having completed a total of 8 full marathons and 2 Half Ironman Triathlons, Brian stays fit by weight training, cycling, running, playing golf, and practising yoga. He one day hopes to complete a full Ironman Triathlon.
Hayley Carr DD—Denturist
Hayley Carr is no stranger to the denturist profession. Hayley grew up working with her father in his practice while attending high school, and during breaks while studying at the University of Guelph. After graduation, she enrolled into the George Brown College Denturist Program and became a licensed denturist in 2006. Joining the family business was practically a foregone conclusion for Hayley, who has always enjoyed working with her father and mentor. Today, she adds her own clinical style and brand of enthusiasm to the practice, and continues to work hard at creating beautiful smiles. She is fascinated by the tremendous benefits of progressive dental technologies for providing permanent tooth replacement solutions. Outside of work, Hayley enjoys socializing with friends and family, reading, and travelling the globe. She and her husband extended their family with addition of their first baby in 2010. Hayley loves spending time at the family cottage, golfing in the summer, and cooking year round!
Compassionate, efficient and a speedy multi-tasker, Stella is a welcome addition to the Nosi Carrs team! Stella joined Nosi Carrs in December 2009 as our receptionist, and has quickly made herself an important component of the office dynamic by ensuring that all patient clinical appointments and associated lab work are organized and on track each and every day. Stella is the voice on the phone and the first person to greet our patients when they walk through the door; she has many responsibilities at Nosi Carrs, but for the most part, she is responsible for steering this ship in the right direction! Stella brings a diverse administrative background to Nosi Carrs, and graduated from the Toronto School of Business in 2001 earning her Legal Administrative Assistant Diploma.
Stella loves spending time with her husband and stepdaughter; going to the movies, hiking, camping and enjoying the outdoors are just a few of the many activities they share as a family.
Despite coming from a large Italian family, the art of cooking is not Stella’s forte. In fact she prefers to eat rather than cook, although it doesn’t show because exercise is a great passion of Stella’s and aside from being faithful to her gym workouts, she recently ran her first 10-km race this past summer and is planning to take part in a half marathon next summer; completing a full marathon is a future goal she intends to work towards.
Travel is Stella’s other great passion; she regularly visits the Caribbean and is looking forward to planning a European adventure very soon!
Hughey began working as a dental technician at Nosi Carrs in 1996, 2 years after he graduated from the Dental Technology program at George Brown College. Hughey is an indispensable member of our team. His incredible work ethic, considerable expertise and knowledge, professionalism and dedication to precision and detail have earned him the moniker “Super Tech”! At work, Hughey enjoys mocking all of the staff, and sharing his delicious lunches. In his spare time, he loves spending time with his wife and 2 children, dining out with friends and family, and playing poker with his friends. Hughey’s fun-loving personality and dedication to his work make him the backbone of the lab team.
Ken joined Nosi Carrs in 2004, and has defined himself as a vital member of our lab team, hot on the trail of becoming a “Super Tech” like his mentor and friend Hughey! Ken has completed Level I & II of the Dental Technician program at George Brown College, and has also accompanied Carrs on various other courses as he continues to upgrade his skills and education. Ken’s quiet and sensitive nature can be mistaken for shyness; however, we at Nosi Carrs know that’s definitely not the case! When he’s not at work, Ken enjoys spending time with his wife, working on cars, playing video games, watching movies and tinkering with computers. Ken is enthusiastic about the field of dental technology and always looks forward to advancing his knowledge and abilities by taking new courses and seminars, he has a keen interest in implant technology and implant over-denture restoration.
